SITUATION REPORT ON RESUMPTION AND HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION

Reporting live from the office of the General Secretary of APGDS this morning, here's a quick info for us all to digest on issues pertaining to boarding and accommodation within the citadel of learning.
The management is still insisting that they don't expect returning students to resume until 2nd May, 2017.
Hence, the hostels are still under lock & security watch except for some exemption registered with the Chief Security Officer (CSO) in line with Ag Rector's directive.
Unfortunately, all the rooms in all the hostels were broken to allow for fumigation, cleaning & renovation.

However, the wardrobes were spared & left intact. Meanwhile, all personal effects inside the rooms but outside the wardrobes including mattresses, buckets, hotplates, etc have been taken away, some disposed of. The order to break into the rooms came from the management via a memo earlier posted which is attached below.

Having complained to the hall warden & was told some effects in duly allocated rooms have been kept & will be returned to rightful owners on resumption with evidence.
Even though we paid for accommodation for the duration of 3 semesters, the hall warden insisted that the regulations is that all personal effects must be moved out of the hostels at the end of the session or semester as the case may be. If we will make any further complaints, the hall executives will need to lead while the APGDS & STUFESS will surely offer full support. Thanks and welcome back to campus.
