BREAKING: FIRE OUTBREAK IN FSS-OYO

Pandemonium arises as shopping mall behind the Olayinka Adekoya hall of residence engulfed with fire, burns shops and destroys goods worth thousands of naira in FSS-OYO. The fire outbreak which occurred within the hours of 17:30hrs GMT and 19:00hrs GMT today was reported to be caused by improper supervision by one of the shop owner (name withheld) burning refuse and dirt behind the shopping plaza of the institution. The heavy thick smokes in the atmosphere drew the attention of the student within the vicinity.

Sequel to the arrival of Security personnel’s and student on campus to put off the fire, several goods, essential items, materials, and equipment where lost to the raging fire although, no casualty was recorded. With the joint effort of the Sheriff Deputies, abled men and the Students around, the fire was quickly put off using water and detergent as well as the limited fire extinguishers available before it could do a severe damage.

The arrival of the Head of Department as well as the Chief Security Officer shows sign of concern and a display of responsibility to protecting lives and properties of the student populace as well as see to the fact that the incident was curbed and everything perfectly in order. Hence, a further call to the management and security personnel to be at alert and always prepared for subsequent cases of emergency as well as putting up preventive measures to avoid further re-occurrence.
